OUR STORY

THE CHOIR by ABBA The Museum is a pop choir that sings the music of ABBA. We were established in 2014 by ABBA The Museum and Björn Ulvaeus to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ABBA's Eurovision Song Contest win in 1974.

At the time in 2014 our artistic director Karin Bäckström formed and shaped THE CHOIR commissioned by ABBA The Museum.

Special musical arrangements and backing tracks were made by Göran Arnberg, member of BAO (Benny Anderssons Orkester). A special edition of ABBA's famous cat costumes was made especially for us by Owe Sandström, designer of many of ABBA's iconic stage costumes.

THE CHOIR by ABBA The Museum performed under the name of “ABBA The Museum / The Choir” on the 6th April 2014 on TV4 (Sweden) and later the same day at ABBA The Museum in Stockholm, accompanied by Benny Andersson for our final song "Thank You For The Music" and at the Official International ABBA Anniversary Party,  Tate Modern London. Where Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad presented THE CHOIR on stage to the 1500-strong crowd that had gathered to celebrate ABBA's 40th anniversary.

Since then THE CHOIR by ABBA The Museum has gotten many new arrangements  by Göran Arnberg  and new exclusive designs from Owe Sandström.

THE CHOIR has performed on several
occasions e.g. Eurovision Village Stockholm, Pride Park Stockholm, Skansen Körklang, Swedish Radio P4 Live, Swedish Television SVT Tolvslaget, ABBA The Museum etc.
